GUMMY drop second music video, reveal teaser for 2nd EP ‘GIVE ME CHOCOLATE’

Crossdressing alt-rock supergroup GUMMY have revealed their latest music video, ‘Zouka’, as well as teasing their 2nd EP ‘GIVE ME CHOCOLATE’. The music video and EP teaser trailer both dropped on August 25th, while the EP releases September 3rd.

GUMMY’s second music video, ‘Zouka’ (‘artifical flower’), was shot and directed by AMON who has previously worked with vocalist Gara’s band MERRY, as well as acts such as NIGHTMARE, KAMIJO, Sadie, and others. It sees the band performing on the floor of Shinjuku LOFT, with AMON’s distinct soft lighting and colour grading creating a dreamy atmosphere.

‘Zouka’ was written by Gara and guitarist Mad Dangerous; Gara handling lyrics, and Mad Dangerous composing. It’s a deeply melancholy track, painting the image of intense longing and pain.

‘GIVE ME CHOCOLATE’ is the band’s second EP, and comes less than 5 months after their first, ‘GIVE ME GUMMY’. Containing 6 tracks, including ‘Zouka’, the EP will be available on CD from September 3rd. On the same day, GUMMY will hold a sold out oneman live, GUMMY no hi (GUMMY Day) at Shinjuku LOFT celebrating its release, as well as the venue’s 50th anniversary.

The teaser trailer features snippets of each track, building upon the band’s early established image and worldview. ‘GIVE ME CHOCOLATE’ is available to pre-order now via CDJapan.

About GUMMY

GUMMY are a Japanese visual kei and alternative rock supergroup formed by vocalist Gara (MERRY), guitarist Mad Dangerous — the GUMMY alter ego of aie (deadman, gibkiy gibkiy gibkiy) — bassist KOHTA (PIERROT), and drummer Lotty, known as Lotto in Fukuro. The band officially formed in 2026, but its roots stretch back several years to when KOHTA approached aie about playing together. Lotty joined the pair for regular studio sessions, and Gara later completed the line-up. There was no masterplan for what GUMMY should become. The four came together simply to make music they found interesting, developing songs in the rehearsal room before the band had a name, a defined sound, or a visual concept. The deliberately outrageous "girls band" identity came later, with Gara, Mad Dangerous, and Lotty adopting exaggerated feminine personas while KOHTA takes the role of their suited manager. That same lack of overthinking runs through the music. Songs come together through the members playing in a room, often without demos or sequencing, in an old-school process closer to the way they first made music decades earlier. Their sound pulls from raw rock 'n' roll, grunge, punk, and the Japanese rock of the 1980s and '90s, with aie's darker, less conventional guitar writing rubbing against Gara's instinct for pop and kayōkyoku-influenced melody. GUMMY made their first public appearance with an unannounced 30-minute set at Battle KHIMAIRA vol.6 in January 2026, before formally beginning activities at Shinjuku LOFT that March.
