Osaka-based indie four-piece Sunsoogirl (三四少女) have announced the release of their first album, ‘Koishiteru・Continue’, due out on November 27th via their independent label, Hao Chi Union.
Ahead of the album’s release, Sunsoogirl dropped the single ‘Tanoshii Sansuu’ on October 15th. Featuring lyrics in Chinese, English, and Japanese, the track is described as a self-introduction for the band. The accompanying music video highlights their fun, carefree vibe, with the band cycling through outfits ranging from pajamas and school uniforms to retro rock costumes and chef attire. It perfectly captures the offbeat charm that defines Sunsoogirl’s “super cute” pop-rock style.
‘Koishiteru・Continue’ will feature nine tracks, including ‘Tanoshii Sansuu’, along with a revamped 2024 version of ‘sugar suicide’ from their 2023 debut EP.
Additionally, to promote the album, the band will embark on their first-ever nationwide tour, ‘▶ Hajime Kara’, which will span three cities in December. The tour kicks off in Nagoya at CLUB ROCK’N’ROLL on December 14th, followed by performances in Tokyo and Osaka.
About Sunsoogirl
Formed in 2021, Osaka’s Sunsoogirl is a four-piece indie rock band made up of Kawada Hanako (vocals/guitar), Tami (guitar), Satchuu (bass), and Andrew (drums). The group officially started their activities in March 2022, releasing their independently produced debut EP, ‘soukangou’ (‘The First Issue’), in March 2023, a date they now call “Sansuu Day”.
Sunsoogirl broke onto the national scene as finalists in the Mynavi Senko Riot 2023, and later secured the runner-up spot at Kansai’s Jūdai Hakusho in 2024. Their 2023 single ‘Utopia’ quickly racked up over 100,000 views on YouTube, cementing their reputation for catchy, “super cute” indie pop with a sharp edge.
