BABYMETAL JOIN METALLICA AND ALEXISONFIRE ON THE MAIN STAGE AT READING AND LEEDS 2015

2015 has already been a busy year for the three queens of metal, but that’s not slowing them down any time soon, especially as the gruesome threesome have just announced they’ll be taking over the main stage at Reading and Leeds festivals this August.

Obviously with this news the internet has sparked the same debate that took over threads across the web in 2014 as they made their UK debut on the main stage at Sonisphere, should BABYMETAL be sharing a stage with some of the biggest names in rock and metal, including Metallica, Bring Me The Horizon and Alexisonfire? Some commenters on the Reading Festival facebook page didn’t take the announcement well.
“What the hell is this rubbish? They look like 11-years-olds playing dress up. This is supposed to be an English festival, we won’t be able to understand anything they’re saying!”

“It’s a disappointment when this sort of dross is put on the main stage…looks like last year was my first and last Reading Festival.”

“Out of everyone they could have chosen to preform they f**king choose BABYMETAL. Now a bunch of f**king 12-14 year old emo kids are going to be walking around all day!”
Personally, we’re on the side of music should be fun, and if you managed to witness what these girls and their killer backing band are capable of last year at either their two sold out London shows or Sonisphere, you know that these guys have it by the bucket load.
Here’s what Jeff Walker, frontman of the UK’s own metal pioneers Carcass had to say about BABYMETAL in an interview with Nuclear Blast Records.
“It’s actually fun, you know, like GHOST. Some people get very reactionary about a band like GHOST or BABYMETAL. It puts a smile on people’s faces. That’s what music’s about, isn’t it?! Enjoying it and not being so serious.”
