tricot Set For First UK Tour This March

tricot are a math rock three-piece from Kyoto, and if that name doesn’t sound familiar, that’ll soon change this March as they bring their fresh combo of noisy guitar, frantic rhythm, and dynamic vocals to our shores for their first ever UK tour.

Last October they took the US by storm with a 14-date tour across the country, now in 2016 they’ll be taking on Europe as the next part of their ongoing YATTOKOSA tour, starting off in Denmark on March 3rd and ending in Poland on the 28th. The UK leg of the tour will see the trio hit London, Cardiff, Brighton, Dublin, Glasgow, Leeds, and finally Leicester. This’ll be their first appearance in the UK since they performed at Eden Sessions in Cornwall back in 2014.

Despite losing their drummer in 2014, tricot have managed to keep up their charismatic and sometimes audacious sound with the help of support drummers, which led to a brilliant rendition of Niwa from their 2015 album A N D with all 5 of the drummers who helped work on the album, including Toshiki Hata (ex. Tokyo Jihen), Miyoko Yamaguchi (detroit7), and BOBO (best known in the UK as supporting drummer for Miyavi).

tricot are shaping up to be the hottest export out of Japan right now, and as 2016 gets under way, it looks like there’s no sign they’ll be slowing down any time soon.
