f5ve set release date for debut album ‘SEQUENCE 01’

LDH girl group f5ve have announced their debut album ‘SEQUENCE 01’, set for release on May 5th. The news arrives alongside their latest single, ‘MAGIC CLOCK’, and its surreal time-warping music video featuring TSURUGI from PSYCHIC FEVER.

SEQUENCE 01 introduces f5ve’s genre-fluid approach, fusing dance, rock, funk, and hyperpop with multilingual lyrics and award-winning production. The album is executive produced by BloodPop® (Lady Gaga, Justin Bieber), with additional contributions from A. G. Cook (Charli XCX, Hikaru Utada) and Hudson Mohawke.

The 11-track album includes previous singles ‘UFO’, ‘Underground‘, and ‘Lettuce’, with more details on the full tracklist to be revealed. Speaking about the release, the group said:

‘MAGIC CLOCK’ arrives with surreal music video

The album announcement is accompanied by ‘MAGIC CLOCK’, a track that reunites BloodPop® with A. G. Cook following their work on ‘UFO’. The song incorporates hyperpop elements into an upbeat, playful arrangement, with lyrics reflecting on time, memories, and cherished moments.

The music video, directed by Crystalline Structures Studio (IVE), places f5ve inside a mysterious clock shop run by TSURUGI from PSYCHIC FEVER. As the group interacts with the shop’s peculiar clocks, they undergo a bizarre transformation, shifting between children, adults, and elderly women in a looping sequence. The choreography mirrors the “cou-cou” of the chorus, reminiscent of a cuckoo clock’s movement.
