MUCC exude goth sensuality in new music video for ‘Ai no Uta’

Ibaraki natives MUCC have just unveiled the music video for their first single of their third major debut, ‘Ai no Uta’ (‘Love Song’). Officially dropping on June 4th, this release marks the 47th single overall from the 27-year-strong veterans.

The track opens with amp feedback and a simple guitar phrase before heading into seductively sludgy riffs. Whilst conjuring images of bands like BUCK TICK, ‘Ai no Uta’ has a distinct MUCC sound to it, combining grungy guitars, gothic melodies, and an air of mystery. The driving riff throughout is satisfyingly undulating, further solidifying the sensual feeling of the track.

Earlier this year, MUCC signed with Tokuma Japan Communications, marking the band’s 3rd major debut since forming in 1997. The new single will also feature the B side track, ‘Violet’. A limited edition version of the CD release will include a DVD featuring music videos for ‘Ai no Uta’ and ‘Violet,’ along with bonus footage.

Additionally, 3 exclusive limited editions, one for each member of the band, will be offered only through the Crown Tokuma Shop, featuring an unusual item—an alarm clock with the voices of their respective band members.
