Age Factory released their latest single First day song, the theme to Kenji Shibayama’s latest film Ima wa Chotto, Tsuitenai dake.
The track serves as Age Factory’s first release since dropping their 4th studio album Pure Blue back in November.
Based on Yuki Ibuki’s 2016 novel and starring Takuma Otoo, Ima wa Chotto, Tsuitenai dake follows former nature photographer and TV presenter Hiroki Tachibana who tries to regain his passion for photography after his agency forces him into debt.
The film was released in cinemas across Japan on April 8th.
In an interview with EYESCREAM, frontman Shimizu Eisuke talked about the production of the new single.
“I always put the melody first. This time I got the subject first and wrote the song, but I couldn’t perform live due to the influence of COVID-19, so I started making the song when I wasn’t feeling bright. So, there are some differences in this work, that are expressed purely in First day song.”
