Global metalcore icons Crossfaith have announced that bassist Hiroki Ikegawa has departed the band amidst their ‘- Departure -‘ Japan tour. Hiroki had been on hiatus since September 2022 and made the decision after extensive discussions within the band.

Crossfaith, formed in November 2006, expressed gratitude for Hiroki’s contributions and announced that the band will continue their activities by welcoming support members. They clarified that the departure does not affect Crossfaith’s commitment to their ongoing Japan tour and future releases.

In a heartfelt statement, Hiroki reflected on the band’s journey, expressing pride in the memories created during his 16-year tenure. While acknowledging the inevitable changes in life, he emphasized a positive outlook, quoting, “Even darkness must pass”, and conveyed readiness for new experiences.

Frontman Kenta Koie expressed deep emotions, highlighting the difficulty of the decision and emphasizing that Hiroki will always be a part of the Crossfaith family. Guitarist Kazuki Takemura apologized for the unexpected turn of events and expressed gratitude for Hiroki’s significant role in the band.

Crossfaith members collectively thanked their fans for the unwavering support and understanding during this transitional period. The departure of Hiroki Ikegawa marks a significant moment in Crossfaith’s history, and the band, while saddened, is poised to embrace the future with continued dedication to their music and live performances.

Crossfaith’s ongoing nationwide tour, themed around making a fresh start, has already witnessed sold-out performances in Osaka and Nagoya, featuring guest bands Maximum The Hormone and Harukamirai. Ling Tosite Sigure joined as a guest in Sapporo, with Of Mice & Men scheduled to return to Japan for the Tokyo performance on February 18th.
