Petit Brabancon to drop nu-metal fueled EP ‘Seven Garbage Born of Hatred’

Petit Brabancon, the metal supergroup fronted by DIR EN GREY‘s Kyo, have announced their second EP- ‘Seven Garbage Born of Hatred’ due for release on August 7th.

In the announcement, the band described the 7-track EP as a “mid 90’s work that pursues the feeling of “extreme” based on nu-metal from America”. This comes at a time where nostalgia is giving the genre a small resurgence through bands such as Nova Twins, Code Orange, WARGASM UK, and granddaddies of the genre Korn, Limp Bizkit, and Slipknot. The new work came about after 2 explosive shows in Osaka back in January with “moshing, crowd surfing, walls of death everywhere, with a passionate audience, and rampaging beasts”, as described by their record label.

Kyo takes on all lyric writing duties, with antz, Miya, and yukihiro all taking on composition duties. The group’s direction is wildly different than each member’s respective main band. Able to pull on various influences and experiences from their long tenures in the industry, the members have created Petit Brabancon’s distinctive sound.

Last October the band joined Slipknot’s festival Knotfest Japan, held in Chiba’s massive Makuhari Messe, playing to a sold out crowd of 9000 people. In September, they will embark upon a nationwide Japan tour titled ‘BURST CITY’, playing 7 shows across the country. Tickets, including options for international fans, are available via eplus.

In a possible nod to the US influences on the EP, the “Full Production Limited Edition” of the EP, releasing exclusively via the MAVERICK STORE and GALAXY BROAD SHOP, will feature unique pizza-box packaging, along with a takeout pizza tote bag.

The events, in Tokyo and Osaka, will feature band members taking to the stage to discuss the new release. However, the members appearing at each event will be a secret.

About Petit Brabancon
