Gothic VK metallers DazzlingBAD unveil 9th MV ‘UrOBorOss’

Gothic visual kei metal band DazzlingBAD have revealed their 9th music video ‘UrOBorOss’ (stylised as ‘UrOꓭorOss’). The track is yet to be released on streaming services.

‘UrOBorOss’ is a lyrically dark and bleak song, focusing on disturbing dreams and realities. The track opens with a line in Hebrew which translates to “When I woke up, it was also a dream, The darkness that haunted me was me”. This line is mirrored in the end of the song, this time in Japanese, translating to “The darkness chasing me was me…”.

With lyrics written by enigmatic vocalist iT, and music by guitarist Masa, ‘UrOBorOss’ is a polished avantgarde metal track, which exemplifies DazzlingBAD’s signature sound. iT goes from deep growls to almost cute, yet creepy singing, atop a relentless pummeling drum beat from Loa. Later in the song we’re treated to a jazzy, cabaret vibe moment, followed by a twin guitar solo from YUTA and MASA. Bassist AYAHA even gets in on the violin, adding to the gothic charm of the track.

The video sees the band performing in an opulent mansion, with cut-aways to imagery such as gothic cathedral backgrounds, and a hellish sea of hands grasping at the band. The visuals carry over into the band’s new looks which were revealed along with the video.

This release comes during the band’s oneman Japan tour titled ‘Re:ꓭirth’. Having started on January 5th at HOLIDAY SHINJUKU, the band will perform across 4 more venues, with the tour final at Shibuya’s clubasia. The tour final also marks the band’s 4th anniversary.

About DazzlingBAD

DazzlingBAD formed in November 2020, but officially began activities in February 2021. In June that same year, they released their first single ‘MUD [] invisible coexistence’. Shortly after in September ’21, guitarist MASA joined as a full time member. They continued to regularly release new music, and in February 2024 an official DazzlingBAD digital yonkoma began, created by illustrator Emishige. In June, the band began their ‘Jubaku Hyourei project’. The project saw the group take on a traditional Japanese style. They released the MV for ‘Hana ichi-monme’ and followed with an album release titled ‘jubakuhyourei’ in July. The project ran for 3 months, ending in October the same year. In January 2025, the band embarked upon their ‘Re:ꓭirth’ oneman tour, and are due to celebrate their 4th anniversary in February.
