DYGL releases ‘Shadow’ as theme song for upcoming film

Tokyo indie rock ensemble DYGL are set to release their new digital single, ‘Shadow’, on December 13th.

Following the unexpected release of ‘Acervation’ in October, DYGL has maintained a streak of performances, including participation in the Vagabond Festival in Taiwan and embarking on a seven-city Asian tour covering major metropolises such as Shanghai, Beijing, and Hong Kong.

‘Shadow’ serves a dual purpose as the theme song for the upcoming film ‘The Night Before’, directed by Ayaka Horii, scheduled for release on December 15th. The track seeks to encapsulate the essence of passing memories, exuding a light and airy feel reminiscent of days gone by. Featuring folk-like guitar melodies and compelling vocals, the song gracefully transitions into a psychedelic soundscape in its latter part.

The artwork for the single’s jacket was crafted by the band’s bassist, Yotaro Kachi.

In addition, DYGL will conclude 2023 with a sold-out solo concert at Tokyo’s Shindaita FEVER on December 27th.
