Rina Sawayama and CHANMINA have teamed up for a new rendition of Rina’s hit single ‘This Hell’.
Titled ‘This Hell (feat. CHANMINA – Gyarupi Remix)’, the release is part of Spotify’s ‘GLOW’ initiative, which aims to spotlight LGBTQ+ artists and their perspectives to a global audience. CHANMINA took on the task of writing the lyrics for the remix, infusing her unique style into the already beloved pop-country pride anthem from Sawayama’s 2022 album, ‘Hold the Girl’.
Additionally, a behind-the-scenes video of the single’s artwork shoot has been released on Universal Music Japan’s YouTube channel.
Commenting on the collaboration, both artists expressed a shared commitment to advocating for sexual diversity and equality. CHANMINA emphasizes the importance of love and acceptance, while Sawayama reflects on the challenges still faced by the LGBTQ+ community in Japan and around the world.
