MASKED reveals 27+ band lineup for debut visual kei festival in Shibuya: JILUKA, Royz, DEVILOOF, and more announced

New visual kei project MASKED has revealed their first festival which will feature over 27 VK bands. The event will be held on May 25th across 3 venues in Shibuya- Spotify O-EAST, Spotify O-WEST, and duo MUSIC EXCHANGE.

Various visual kei bands will perform at the one-day festival, including JILUKA, Royz, Arlequin, DEXCORE, Azavana, and more. Special artist photos featuring the vocalists of each band have been released, appearing across members’ socials earlier today. The festival trailer includes behind-the-scenes footage from the photoshoot.

In addition to the already announced bands, 2 more acts have the chance to earn a spot on the lineup through an audition show. Tokyo Hanayome, Yamitera, SUPERKNOVA, SORANAKI, KAKURIYO PANDA, HAKANAKI, and RURUNONE will battle it out through a live audition on April 8th at Shibuya REX. The selection will be based on audience votes at the event, reactions online, and overall evaluation by the MASKED production committee.

Furthering the reach of visual kei

MASKED shared additional plans to expand visual kei’s reach. The team is working to secure a prime-time TV slot for VK and plans to open a collaboration cafe in the heart of Shibuya, creating a community space for fans. To connect with a broader audience, the project also provides English-language updates on social media and YouTube.
