Ado wraps up historic ‘Heart’ concerts at National Stadium with 140K+ attendees

Ado’s monumental two-day concert, ‘Ado SPECIAL LIVE 2024 ‘Heart”, held at the Japan National Stadium in Tokyo over the weekend, stirred audiences with awe-inspiring performances and surprise cameos.

The enigmatic singer took to the stage on April 27th and 28th, delivering performances showcasing her unparalleled vocal prowess and magnetic stage charisma. This event marked a historic moment as Ado became the first female solo artist to headline a concert at the prestigious National Stadium, which opened in 2019. With over 140,000 fans attending the event over the two days, tickets sold out immediately, amplifying Ado’s status as one of the biggest artists of the Reiwa era.

Supported by TeddyLoid, who performed DJ sets on both nights, Ado surprised fans with special guest appearances from B’z guitarist Takahiro Matsumoto and virtual idol Hatsune Miku. Ado performed her 2023 single ‘DIGNITY’ alongside Takahiro, who also composed the track. Additionally, she premiered the new song ‘Sakura Biyori & Time Machine’ written by Mafumafu, featuring Hatsune Miku.

Her performance alongside Hatsune Miku felt particularly poignant, as Ado, an utaite artist who started out covering popular VOCALOID songs online, got the chance to perform with one of her childhood idols that shaped the sound she’s now known for globally.

The stage featured elaborate lighting, lasers, fire effects, and massive firework and drone displays from the stadium roof, which were witnessed across the city. Each seat had a wristband light, synchronized to create patterns and graphics as part of the show.

Earlier this year, Ado went globe-trotting for the first time as part of her ‘Wish’ world tour, with sold-out performances across Asia, Europe, and the USA.

Despite the overwhelming success of the concert, Ado’s mysterious persona remains intact, with the singer continuing to keep her true identity hidden from the public eye.

In July, Ado will hold her first nationwide arena tour, ‘Ado JAPAN TOUR 2024 ‘Profile of Mona Lisa”, and release her second original album, ‘Zanmu’.
