RAZOR unveil 2 new music videos, plus best of album ‘Zankou’

Visual kei group RAZOR have released 2 new music videos, as well as a best-of album ‘Zankou’. The album released on October 15th.

‘Zankou’ (‘Afterglow’) features 12 songs, 2 of which are brand new and both have received MVs. The videos for ‘AfterGlow’ and ‘Sayonara’ both dropped yesterday. The remaining 10 songs on the album are new versions of songs from the band’s 8 year career. Including previous singles ‘INTENSITY’ and ‘COUNTDOWN’, the album is a comprehensive look back at their discography.

The album has also received a physical release, with both a regular and deluxe edition available. The deluxe edition includes a special anniversary DVD, 36 page booklet, and special packaging.

RAZOR will be holding instore events across Japan to celebrate the release of ‘Zankyou’, including talks, handshake events, and 6-shot opportunities. In order to participate, fans must purchase the album from specified retailers and will be given tickets upon purchase.

As well as this, their 8th anniversary oneman tour across Japan is about to begin. Starting on October 17th at Sapporo SPiCE, the band will perform at 8 venues for 2 nights each, before the tour final on their official anniversary, November 30th at Ebisu LIQUIDROOM. Additionally, RAZOR will be performing at the Royz hosted event ‘COUNT DOWN LIVE GOD FES’ on December 31st at Kawasaki’s CLUB CITTA’. A new year’s countdown event and VK festival in one, ‘GOD FES’ will feature Royz, RAZOR, Azavana, BugLug, DOG inThePWO, Codomo Dragon, and more. General ticket sales begin on November 16th.

About RAZOR

RAZOR formed on November 30th 2016. The band is made up of former members of BORN, Sadie, and ALSDEAD, amongst others. Their name alludes to their sharp sound, cutting through genres. On the day of their formation the band released their first EP ‘RED INVISIBLE’. Holding their first oneman tours in 2017, the band quickly gained traction on the live house circuit. With multiple singles and albums under their belts, the band continued going from strength to strength. However, on November 30th 2019, original drummer Tetsuya left the group following their 3rd anniversary live. The band restarted activities in March 2020 with the arrival of new drummer NIKKY, and shortly after released their next album ‘okite’. Another bump in the road would come though, with NIKKY having to pause activities in 2023 due to illness. Nocturnal Bloodlust drummer Natsu stepped in as support drummer, enabling RAZOR to finish their live shows. 2024 has seen the band successfully release 3 MVs, and begin their 8th anniversary celebrations.
