The drama, starring former idols Asuka Saito, Nagisa Saito, and ano, alongside J-drama regular Sakurai Kaito, has generated high expectations since its announcement. The Oshi no Ko anime launched YOASOBI’s viral hit ‘Idol’ in 2023—raising the question of whether the live-action, with its diverse musical lineup, could spark another major success. Fans of the original manga and anime eagerly await its release, hoping it will attract new audiences.

Artist Comments

MY FIRST STORY (Episode 1)

“It’s a great honour to have been chosen to perform the opening theme for the important first episode of Oshi no Ko. Our goal was to elevate the drama with a musical style that only we can express. We hope you’ll enjoy both the drama and our song, ‘Akuma.'”

Rokudenashi (Episode 2)

“It is a great honour to be entrusted with the opening theme for the Oshi no Ko drama. For the second episode, we worked with Vocaloid producer Kanzaki Iori to create the song ‘Sousou Fuitsu.’ The song portrays the inner conflict of Kana Arima as she starts to move forward after meeting Aqua. We hope this track becomes as beloved as the drama itself.”

Taiki Kudo (Da-iCE, Episode 3)

“For Episode 3, which focuses on Akane’s storyline in the reality romance show arc, the approach was to create a song that truly highlights Akane’s character. With the help of a choir and the opening lines performed by Mizuki Kayashima, who plays Akane, we crafted a special arrangement. The track, ‘Orange Youth,’ blends the themes of youth and Akane’s journey, symbolizing not a blue spring, but a deep orange one. We hope you’ll enjoy it together with the visuals.”

I’s (Episode 4)

“We are incredibly honoured to be in charge of the opening theme for Episode 4. ‘Past die Future’ is a song born from a melody and lyrics that Vo.Gt. ano, who plays MEMcho in the drama, came up with during filming. This song wouldn’t exist if not for her experience portraying MEMcho, making it a deeply personal track. It’s filled with determination to part ways with her past self and survive no matter what in this world. Please give it a listen!”

yabai T-shirts yasan (Episode 5)

Takuya Koyama (G, Vo):

“We never imagined we’d be part of Oshi no Ko! I was surprised when the opportunity came up. After thoroughly reading both the original work and the drama’s script, we struggled with the lyrics but ended up with a song that’s both serious and pop. If you listen just once, you’ll love it! It’ll be great for live performances too!”

Aribobo (B, Vo):

“Being part of the live-action adaptation of a series I’ve been eagerly following is such a thrill! At first, I was wondering, ‘Where will a Yabai T-Shirts Yasan song even fit in?’ But our track ‘Eegana’ ended up perfectly matching Oshi no Ko’s balance of pop and darkness. I’m so excited to perform it live soon!”

Mori Morimoto (Dr, Cho):

“We were all super excited when we got the offer to do the theme song! Since it’s for the live-action version of such a popular work, we put a lot of thought into it. Like the characters in the story, this song is also a new challenge for Yabai T-Shirts Yasan. I’m sure the viewers will love it! Please enjoy our heartfelt track!”

WANIMA (Episode 6)

“With this song, we’ve struck a fine balance between WANIMA’s past and future. It’s a song that reflects the ups and downs of life, capturing the struggles and determination to exist in the present moment.”

Wednesday Campanella (Episode 7)

“I’m really grateful to have had the chance to work on such a wonderful project. The new song I wrote draws inspiration from Aqua and Akane’s emotional journeys, comparing them to the ‘moving points P and Q’ from math problems. It also carries a message that we shouldn’t be confined by our past or roles but instead live freely. I hope you enjoy it alongside the drama.”

Umeda Cypher (Episode 8)

“The themes of light and darkness in Oshi no Ko resonate with the darker aspects that each of our MCs brings to the table, and we’ve focused on expressing that through our music. Please enjoy ‘REVENGE,’ the opening theme for Episode 8!”

In addition to the theme songs, a series of TV commercials featuring digest clips of each episode will air on TV Asahi’s EIGHT-JAM starting November 3. Fans will be able to see early footage from the first two episodes, with MY FIRST STORY’s ‘Akuma’ and Rokudenashi’s ‘Sousou Fuitsu’ serving as the soundtrack to the first teasers.

The Oshi no Ko drama premieres exclusively on Prime Video, with a theatrical film set to follow on December 20th.
